GoDaddy DNS Setup Guide for Piisend Domain Verification

Step-by-step walk-through to add Piisend sending (SPF, DKIM), receiving (MX), and tracking (CNAME) DNS records in GoDaddy for your custom domain.

GoDaddy DNS Setup Guide for Piisend Domain Verification

This step-by-step guide helps you configure DNS records in GoDaddy to verify and enable Sending, Receiving, and Tracking for your custom domain (or subdomain like mail.yourdomain.com) on Piisend.

After publishing records, verify SPF, DKIM, and DMARC with our free SPF/DKIM/DMARC checker or MX records checker.

Step 1: Log into GoDaddy & Access DNS Management

  1. Go to GoDaddy.com and log in to your account.
  2. Click on your profile icon in the top right and select My Products.
  3. Under Domains, find your domain (e.g., yourdomain.com) and click DNS (or click the three dots next to the domain and select Manage DNS).

Step 2: Add Sending Records (SPF & DKIM)

Piisend requires SPF and DKIM DNS records to authenticate your outgoing emails and ensure high inbox deliverability.

1. Add SPF TXT Record

  • Type: TXT
  • Name / Host: @ (or your subdomain like mail if using a sending subdomain)
  • Value / Content: v=spf1 include:piisend.com ~all
  • TTL: 1 Hour (or Default)

2. Add DKIM Record (CNAME / TXT)

  • Type: CNAME (or TXT as generated by Piisend)
  • Name / Host: k1._domainkey (or k1._domainkey.mail for a subdomain)
  • Value / Target: dkim.piisend.com (Copy exact value shown in your Piisend Dashboard)
  • TTL: 1 Hour

Step 3: Add Receiving Records (MX Records)

If you plan to receive incoming emails via Piisend, add these MX records:

1. Primary MX Record

  • Type: MX
  • Name / Host: @ (or subdomain like mail)
  • Priority: 10
  • Value / Points to: mxa.piisend.com
  • TTL: 1 Hour

2. Secondary MX Record

  • Type: MX
  • Name / Host: @ (or subdomain like mail)
  • Priority: 10
  • Value / Points to: mxb.piisend.com
  • TTL: 1 Hour

Step 4: Add Tracking Record (CNAME Record)

To enable click and open tracking for your emails sent from Piisend:

  • Type: CNAME
  • Name / Host: email (or email.mail if using a subdomain)
  • Value / Target: track.piisend.com
  • TTL: 1 Hour

Step 5: Verify DNS Records in Piisend

  1. Go back to your Piisend Dashboard under Domains.
  2. Click Verify DNS Settings / Check Propagation.
  3. Note: DNS propagation in GoDaddy usually takes 5 to 30 minutes. Once verified, your domain status will turn active!
